Denison Industries, an aluminum sand and permanent mold foundry that utilizes MAGMASOFT^® and MAGMA Foundry Technologies Inc. teamed up to provide an OEM Technical Seminar for Raytheon Precision Manufacturing in Dallas, Texas. Twenty individuals from fabrication producibility, metallurgical engineering, quality assurance, supply chain management and manufacturing attended the seminar.

Raytheon is a technology and innovation leader specializing in defense, homeland security and other government markets throughout the world. The scientists and engineers at Raytheon continually strive to find a better, quicker solution, because in today’s ever-changing global market, new customer requirements are always emerging.

The seminar provided information about integrating casting process simulation into Raytheon’s design development and product delivery process. Case studies highlighted the value of utilizing MAGMASOFT^® early in the development stage with improving the castability and final part quality. Additionally, it was shown that this approach also reduces development times and overall program costs. There were discussions on the benefits of working with casting suppliers utilizing the technology as an engineering tool to develop new casting programs and address current issues. Denison Industries discussed their utilization of MAGMASOFT^® to reduce costs, improve their casting operation and facilitate communication, but more importantly to meet the needs and expectations of their customers. The ultimate goal is to leverage technology to create a valued partnership between casting users and casting suppliers.
