IPROguss means „intelligent optimization of foundry production processes”. In addition to MAGMA, the project partners are:

The project objective is the development of an innovative method to efficiently assure product quality in casting processes. Beside the best possible methoding, virtual experiments using autonomous engineering with MAGMASOFT® deliver data for product quality in dependence on process set-up before casting production begins - for example, whenever new parts are produced or when the casting process is subject to significant changes.

On the other hand, predictive models of casting quality can be improved by making use of the ongoing collection of process data from the actual production and from the examination of mechanical properties of cast parts trhough materials testing.

The project links together both worlds. Integration of this new methodology at foundries will provide new capabilities to plan, control and optimize their complex production processes in a more efficient way.

The project is funded by the German ZIM program for small and medium enterprises.
