International MAGMA User Meeting 2010

200 attendees from five continents discussed casting process simulation

Aachen/Dresden, November 2010: With a record attendance, the International MAGMA User Meeting recently took place in Dresden (Germany). The event was organized by MAGMA Giessereitechnologie GmbH and attracted around 200 users of MAGMA’s casting process simulation software. The attendees traveled from all over the world to the “Florence of the Elbe” - as the Saxons have christened Dresden - in order to exchange news and discuss the optimization of casting processes and cast components. The participants came mainly from foundries, but also from research institutes as well as casting consumers. All of the German automotive manufacturers were present as MAGMA users.

In Dresden, MAGMA presented current developments in its software MAGMA  5. The users had much time to present and discuss interesting and exciting simulation projects with their colleagues. Scientists from leading research institutes introduced their latest results regarding the simulation driven optimization of casting processes. In addition to the full program of presentations, the users could take advantage of a forum at which they had the opportunity to discuss individual questions about various software applications directly with MAGMA specialists.

Casting process simulation with MAGMA’s market leading software has already become part of daily business in important foundries and for the largest casting buyers, and the users attend the meeting in order to keep up-to-date. “Users attend the meetings despite drastically shortened travel budgets and despite pressure on the job, which speaks in favor of the value that MAGMA User Meetings have for their companies,” concludes Dr.-Ing. Jörg C. Sturm, Executive Manager Sales and Engineering at MAGMA GmbH.
